A good overview of application design and optimization when working with OpenGL

I stumbled on this OpenGL application design article at the Apple Developer site; and while it does cover some specific Mac OS X issues, it’s a nicely written overview. As someone who as spent a lot of time recently sifting through APIs, it’s nice to get some perspective of the larger picture.
