Welcome to JGO! Is your C++ / Python experience in game programming or something else?
I gained my knowledge of C++ while I was in college taking a Game Programming course. Python I picked up on the side during that time for the same reasons. I dropped out after a few semester though as I realized I was teaching myself 100% of the curriculum off the internet anyways. So now I teach myself.
