3D Demo: Soft Surface and Potter's Wheel

This demo shows you how to make various geometry deformations on a 3D surface with user’s mouse input.

After you start the program, you can select different actions through double clicking the words on the screen. Following is a brief description about each option.

“Soft”: Point your mouse at the golden surface and press it, then the surface will deform due to your finger force. Press and move your mouse, then the plate will rotate.

“Wave”: Press any point on the plate, then a 3D wave will generate from that point. This is like throwing a stone on a water surface.

“Cylinder”: Wait a few seconds and let the cylinder rotate in the full speed. Use your mouse to press the cylinder, then the cylinder surface will deform. The cylinder will rotate about 4 minutes and then stop. After that, you can move the cylinder to see the art work you have created. This application is similar to making a vase out of the potter’s wheel through your mouse-hand.

“Sphere”: Use your mouse to press the sphere. If you press it too hard, you can break the sphere.

“Sea.Bird”: Clicking these words will lead you our previous demo: the “Water + Bird + Shark” show stage.
