2 little applet games!

Hi,

I want to show you 2 little applet games:

1. ApoCheating

My aim was to “rebuild” the funny flash game classroom with java and some new ideas.
And the result you can see and play here.

Controls: The arrow keys to walk, spacebar to cheat or to check an unknown person and “b” to throw a coin to deflect the teacher.

2. ApoDefence

I like the TowerDefence maps in games like warcraft3. If you want to play my little clone, you can try it here. You can build 5 towers and have to eleminate 20 enemies. You can choose between different levels, you can upgrade your towers and research new technologies to build better towers or to have more armor etc. You see you have to do many things.
Some graphics are modified from the flash game flashcraft.

Controls: You can do everything with the mouse. Left click to select something and right click to deselect it. There are also some shortcuts: Press 1 to 5 to build the towers etc

Liked the tower defense very much, completed after first game
Score 581827

Awsome !!! :o Both .

Congratulations !

Here is my big new project.

At the moment it is a sokobanclon, a logicgame and a bombermangame with nice graphics and 5 minigames.
In this applet I will add more games in the next weeks and months.
It would be nice if someone can test ist.

The sokoban and step tutorial is only in german, but I will change it later.

The applet doesn’t work for me, I can’t move nor the cursors neither the keyboard. I use JDK 1.6 under Mandriva Linux. I have no problem with other applets.

Doesn’t work?
With JDK 1.6 and Vista it works fine.
Do you click with the mouse in the applet? After that I can use the keyboard.

Works fine here - by the way if you put

this.requestFocus()

just before the game loop in the applet’s run() you can grab the keyboard input without the user having to click first…

No it doesn’t work at all, I tried several times. Please, before assuming that your game works, make some tries under some different operating systems. My own game is frequently tested under Macintosh OS X, Unix (Solaris), Linux (Mandriva Linux 2007, Mandriva Linux 2006, Debian Sarge, Gentoo, Fedora Core, Ubuntu…), Microsoft Windows (NT 2000, XP, Vista). It works fine under all these systems except Vista. As your game works inside an applet, your aim seems to be to make something cross-platform for everyone, not only for Vista users. It works fine under Vista but it doesn’t mean it should work fine on other OS as Vista is still unstable. That is why you must often perform tests. Good luck. I will test your game as often as possible, hoping it will finally work here too.

P.S : requestFocus might not work in some very rare cases. I use an other solution which is more complicated, I use a java.awt.Robot but it might cause some problems in an unsigned applet.

Nice effort but Graphics are not that much good.

nice game…really i enjoy it…carry on.Next time i wana see more exited games.
