I like to call it the universe’s rendering engine with low FPS (or high… you know what I mean :P)

stupid ass video lol
“Lets slowly shine light through a coca cola bottle, than play it back in slow motion”.
Looks really cool!
Although they are just viewing the wave properties of light since they take an average of the observations
That 10^12 fps, is by hardware or software? :point:
“light in motion”, “this is how nature paints a photograph”
amazing =D
its like you can see the universe’s raytracing engine in slowmo
The final video has these frames per seconds. Capturing it had taken probably some hours.
The capturing process is all about timing, it works like that:
Shoot a light burst onto your target and make a photo after X picko/nano(whatever it is called :D) seconds. Repeat till you got captured your hole video, adding each time a little fraction of a second to X.
=> they can only take videos of static enviroments
Eventually computers will be fast enough to do those computations on the fly, and be able to capture that same video in a mater of seconds rather than hours. I think that is what he is hoping for, that with all their research and development open source someone will come up with ways to speed up the process (and come up with useful applications for it)
