seems to be a little easier now

Rock on!
I’ve updated your entry in the manual. You’ve currently got the highest score ever reported!

That was the point. It looks like the changes worked as intended. Let’s see if we don’t get a couple more entries in the High Score Club.
I know it’s not the most perceptable power up, but I take it that the rapid fire helped?
I saw the light… I saw level 7
I’ve gotten to level 7 before, but never with that high of a score! :o
Way to go Hansdampf! I’ve updated your entry.
I tried running the JAR version on a Linux machine running Mustang(1.6.0-rc-b69). It throws the following exception as soon as it’s loaded and I’m left with a blank grey frame covering the screen:
[quote]Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid display mode at sun.awt.X11GraphicsDevice.setDisplayMode(X11GraphicsDevice.java:348) at Xero.main(Unknown Source)

Hmmm… do you know if 640x480x32 is listed as a valid mode in your X Config file?
[quote=“jbanes,post:68,topic:25979”]
I have the proper resolution listed, but the bit depth is 24. As far as I can tell by looking at the documentation, the only valid bit depths for Xorg are 1, 4, 8, 15, 16, and 24. The man file for Xorg lists the valid bit depths under the “-depth” option.
32 bits per pixel should work. Try changing your config file to support it. Worst case is you’ll have to revert your change…
I’ll have to look into 24 bpp. I think there may have been some problems with Windows at that depth. (Can’t win, can I? ;))
Guess I should have mentioned that in my first post. I already tried, X crashed and dumped me into the shell before I hit the login screen.
[quote=“reardonj,post:71,topic:25979”]
That’s not good. I’ll get a 24 bpp version to you as soon as I get the chance.
I wanted to stop bothering with screenshots, but you have to see this one
the second boss was a good opportunity to take a breath!
great game!
Whoa. :o
Pardon me for saying this, but that’s just incredible! Way to go Hansdampf! All hail his 1337 shooter skillz. ;D
The score table has been updated.
P.S. reardonj, I haven’t forgot about you. I had a router failure at home and haven’t been able to hook up my laptop. As soon as I get a replacement, I’ll get a version to you for testing.
