I like how I’ve never heard of/played 99% of the games mentioned in this thread.

And I’ve never played Final Fantasy either haha, but by the looks of it I don’t like it :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm, I’m dating myself here. Games I’ve really enjoyed in the past include (in no particular order):

  • Ultima IV
  • Loderunner
  • Gauntlet
  • Bard’s Tale
  • Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders
  • King’s Quest IV
  • Colonel’s Bequest
  • Planetfall
  • Thexder
  • M.U.L.E.
  • Karateka
  • Realm of Impossibility

Fire Emblem (GBA)
Onimusha Tactic (GBA)
Advance Wars (GBA)
Pokemon Emerald (GBA) I played all but on this title I did caught all legends :point:
Halo franchise (XBOX-PC)
Resident Evil franchise (everywhere)
All AAA FPS game (PC-XBOX) playing FPS with PS controller is suck

Dude, your forum avatar dates you. Awesome game, I always loved cornering the market on energy and squeezing everyone dry. Heck, I even got to make a reference to it recently in another thread here.

Speaking of avatar, I’m replaying Ultima IV right now on my C64 emulator (the PC VGA version may look prettier but it never got the music right). U5 I’ll probably play in C128 mode (the C64 version didn’t have the memory for the music). U6 is the one I’m not sure of, whether it’ll be better on PC or Commodore. Maybe there’s an Amiga version, that’ll probably be the best one …

My favourite was playing all 4 characters at once, mining a ton of Smithore, and not selling it until the final month for 255 a pop!

1> Elite (Commodore 64, 1984) *
2> X-Com Enemy Unknown (PC, 1994)

Jones in the fast lane
Tyrian
Theme Park (I even have the original packaging for this one)
Theme Hospital (No loitering!)
Death Rally
WACKY WHEELS! (got the packaging for this one too!!)

oh God, I forgot there were so many good games. Wait, no I didn’t! I have them all right here! mischievous laughter while booting up DosBox

  • Unreal Tournament
  • Total Annihilation

I like other games, but those are the games I can play again and again.

Hands down, my all time favorite game is the Little Big Adventure series (“Relentless” and “Twinsen’s Odyssey” in the states) - yes, it’s two games (and always the lingering hint of a third), but I count them as one. Bonus points for those of you who see my attempt at a connection with it.

In terms of hours put into a game, I’ll list these as best as I can recall:

  • Ultima 7 (part 1 & 2)
  • Team Fortress 2
  • Warcraft 2
  • Ultima III
  • Ultima IV
  • The classic Infocom text adventures (I’ll just lump those together)
  • Rastan
  • SimCity 2000
  • Thief
  • Morrowind

I’d like to put Planescape: Torment on here, but I keep running into a crash part way into all the playthroughs I’ve done with it, in every imaginable configuration I can come up with on modern hardware.

  • Dungeon Master (Atari ST)
  • Settlers II (PC)
  • Homeworld (PC)

Bigger Games:
Ultima Online ( back in the day) ****
Portal 1 and 2
Half life series ***
Fallout 3 / New Vegas / Skyrim / Oblivion ***
Minecraft ***
Warcraft 2
L4D (original only) ***
Dark Reign 1 ***

Smaller Games:
Super Mario World ***
Zelda A link to the past (SNES) ***
Super Meatboy ***
World of Goo
Braid!!! yay!
Bit Trip Runner (Only this one, I became obsessed)
Lode Runner
Worms 2 (NOT the newer ones) ***

No particular order.

*** = 100+ hours

I am sure I am forgetting some, but at one point, probably at least 1 week or more, each of those were my ‘favorite game of all time’ during some point in my life.
