Take Down

Cool game Kev! Fun and addictive. One issue: the music is becoming enoying after a few minutes in my opinion.

Do you have graphics designer for your graphics?

I can’t do much about the music right now, since (as with graphics), I have no artists :frowning:

At the moment its just me, I’m hoping this version is good enough to attact a graphic artist and/or some bespoke music.

My advice about the music - turn it off in the options

New update :-

  • Some control updates
  • Hopefully that bug has gone (still waiting to know this)
  • Fault Reporting
  • .exe version
  • Cute graphics for status messages.
  • Registration code through Plimus, the code now support buying the game! However, this is currently disable as I’m not willing to sell it just yet

Next - tweaking levels to make them get harder with time and introduce features.

Anyone got any ideas for powerups / bonuses that don’t break the current game (too much?).

Kev

I was playing for a bit, then my optical mouse started to fail on me (happens a little too frequently. Humorously enough, if I bang it on the table enough it starts working again). So I hit Escape, went to the options menu, and switched to keyboard control, only to come back and find I couldn’t continue my game! Perhaps if a game is in progress a “Resume” button can be inserted at the top of the menu?

The only powerups I can think of would be something like… if you get BONUS all of the same color, you get a time powerup that you can later active with a key press or a click on its icon. When you use it, the board stops coming down for 5 (or maybe 10, that’s a balance issue) seconds. Time seems to be the only thing I pray to change while I play  Or perhaps you could get ammo for a “gun” that would be activated with a different control, like again a different key press, that would, instead of grabbing a block, blow it up.

Molohkan, the game was so much faster a couple of days ago! ;D Slowing it down even more would take out the thrill.

I’d really like to see some new levels, if it’s still in development, that is

Fraid not, it was a prototype of an idea, and hit by a wave of depression from feedback and realisation that there’s not money to made and general sense of apathy its gone back on the stack of “I’ve started, but won’t finish” kevglass games.
