SterriaLand

Latest release can be found here:

Player moves quicker, wood block should always get removed (click twice on them), wooden block cannot be placed in player position, snow landing tiles fixed.

Working on skylight next, then the crafting and some cool ideas the gfx artist has come up with which include:

World generated resources:

Rubber - Used with materials such as copper to create electrical wire. Can be dropped by a special creature?

World generated ores:

Copper - Can be used to craft tools, weapons & electrical wire.
Iron - Used to craft machines, tools & weapons.
Aluminum - Mostly used for crafting different machines.
Beryllium - A light metal used to create spacecrafts.
Gallium - Used in LEDs and solar cells.
Cobalt - Mainly used to craft powerful tools.

Machines:

Electrical wire - Used to transport electricity.
Pipes - Used to transport liquids (oil and water?)
Thermal power generator - Uses water and coal to produce a lot of electricity.
Solar cell - Generates a small amount of electricity if no blocks are above it. Doesnt work during night.

Hope people try this version out.

Thanks

Glad to see you took the suggestions and implemented it - it plays a lot better now! :point:

I was working on a game that was a mix between Terraria and the Minecraft modpack Feed the Beast, which had all sorts of machinery in it, all in multiplayer. Unfortunately due to time constraints I couldn’t work on it as often as I’d like so I had to abandon it. It has a TON of unused code such as an entire energy system with wires, and a lighting engine that allowed for day/night cycles. If you’d like I can get you the code for that for your own implementation, send me a PM if you’re interested.

;D

PM’d you.

Started to work on health and crafting, this is latest screen shot:

Implemented the inventory system. Can now select item to use such as axe, pickaxe, various building blocks which can be found around the world. Need to add how many of the items you have. Hope you like.

Been so busy with work lately not had much time to spend on game, finally got round to adding in health bars for the bad guys and now just working on some angry
mob AI.

Latest pic:

There are two people working on a similar project here on JGO. The game the other guy is making is Tryton Forge I believe. TrytonDeja is the person I think. Maybe.

But you two should collaborate on what works and doesn’t.

Yes, quite similar type games and Tryton Forge is looking pretty good

Just showing a zoom out of a world that is 5 miles x 3 miles large…

How many feet is one block?

Hi,
Around 3. This is 5000x3000 tiles.

Been a way a while but still working on game, added attack (need some aniumation for this though) and some fixes, here is video testing line of sight with quite a lot of enemies.
Still tonnes to do, really need a permanent pixel artist to help if possible to bring this game a long…anybody?!
