Waiting on the update from Jeff all. Won’t be long now

Is BattleTrolls scheduled for release with EA2 or will that come later?

Release of BT has been shevled for now. I apologize for that but we are so busy workign on the technology and woklring with some very important game developer partners that we just don’t have the bandwidth to put into getting it release right now.

The flp side is that one of the things wer are workign on with a real game developer will, out the other end, led to a much mreo real and complete MMO type example.

I’m not that bothered about BT- hows EA2 or should we just forget about it for another few years?

Hanging right on the edge. Ist done were justd ecidi9ng whether to hold it abck fro do updates or put it up right now…

Nevetheless it would be interesting to see how the stack-extensions-API might work … those is part of the EA2 with a tutorial, is that correct?

Ragosch

Actually we kinda pulled abck on that.

Its still intended BUT what the gusy are spendng most of their time on right now is a thorough review and re-design of the internal architecture. The good news is that we have some amazing people in labs helping with this right now. (A number of names yould recognize if I could say them out loud. At least one has as many or more patents to his name then I have years in the industry!)

This does mean however that the extension APi is going to change a lot. We didnt want to release an API you might write code to only to say “oh by the way, that API? forget about it…”

The other status news is that Im straightening out some other doc issues right now and am very hopeful we will FINALLY push the puppy out the door this week.

Bill Gates working for SUN! :o :o :o runs off to start rumors

This week hu??? good luck on that one- just make it good mate, we dont mind waiting dude; long as your team think the release helps you move forward. people saying “oh by the way, that API? forget about it…” is a normal thing dude ;D all part of the fun. sort of exspect it with EA’s tbh

Thanks, Im in release hell but frankly I dont have much more TIME to be in release hell, so it needs to get finished.

well in that case Jeff: hurry up u slacker! hahahahahaha

Thankfully one of the othe gusy stepped up to the plate to offload me some.

hes also doign much more extensive testing of the demo apps to make sure they still run, which is a good thing.

so what’s the latest news?

I believe they wee doing internal testing to make sure everything was working before releaseing. I BELIEVE that testing is done and SHOULD be ready to go. Jeff, ETA?

Were doing final etsting now. RSN, really, RSN…

Guys, this is not like the final release of the product to be used in a nuclear
facilitiy (although who knows! =), release the damn thing already!
Document the worst bugs, folks will understand…

Dmitri

Another thing we found in Java SE that weekly public promoted builds
go a long way. Consider it. You’ll get feedback much earlier, bugs
will be found sooner, everyone is happy.

Dmitri

You asked for it, you waited for it, you got it.

EA2 has passed the final tests and should be available as soon as Chris can put it up.

cheer

Thanks for all the hard work!
