Just go with OpenGL. There’s no excuses not to really. The more apps, however tiny, that use it, the more people are going to make sure it works. Solidarity!

It is not Java’s fault. The task bar is drawn onto the display on some Linux distros because of regressions in KDE, the KDE team should do something.

Fair enough. On the other hand, most failures in this specific case were mostly on windows machines. Should windows now die too so we’d only have Mac & Linux/Gnome to worry about? :wink:

Personally like KDE better then Gnome, the underlying tech is much more impressive (qt > gtk) and it has a much stronger line of native applications not to mention tis much more modern looking. Also KDE’s development team is much cooler and actually work pretty nicely with other projects hence why the native apps integrate much better.
