‘etc’ is the abbreviation of ‘etcetera’, which is not an English word (latin), so your native language is not relevant

And according to Wikipedia, in Swedish the abbreviation for the saying of equivalent meaning (“and other things”) is o.s.v.

O.s.v. means “och så vidare” which literally means “and so on”, so the meaning is slightly different from etc. Like I said, et cetera is also used in Swedish.
