Well, it would be nice if at least Java2d were covered. One for each technology that is widely used can’t hurt this system.
The [Java2d] label is simply not used – and using Java2D for games should be discouraged because it’s so hard to squeeze acceptable performance out of it. I’m trying to follow demand, not shape behavior - as the former is so much less work than the latter :point:
This is awesome.
Eh, there are some of us guys out there who use it for the fun of optimising things.[sup]No Debates, Please![/sup]
Anyway, looks like a nice feature! Great work Riven.
Now the only thing I can request is this: The ‘Cheesy’ icon should be a default emote, it just looks too cute!
Here’s what I’m talking about by the way:

I do not cater to the einzelgänger, for there are too many in that club.
And I’m not going to change the default smiley, as that gives a different meaning to existing posts - people carefully pick their emoticons.
Red on pink is a bit uneasy on the eye.

It’s supposed to be narly, it’s food for the chitchat monster after all.
There has to be a way to tag those beginners, how about [help] in yellow as they post all over the place and not just in the newbie forums?
Again, if it is not currently used, it’s not likely to be used in the future, so why put effort in a dozen more labels.
90% of posts are people asking for help, so really that is pointless. A label/tag is supposed to help specify the main subject.
Ah, let me rephrase.
I was wondering if you could add it as a new smiley to the list. It only appears in the ‘Message Icon’ menu, which was why I suggested adding it as a “default” one. Sorry about that.

Done!
Also added support for more notations, including multiple labels per subject:

Dear Lord Riven,
Is it possible to make the labels be not counted towards the total title length? I find it hard to use the labels if the thread title is close to or is about to exceed the max thread title length that was set forth in place.
Sincerely,
tom_mai78101
Dear minion,
This is technically impossible.
I can, however, increase the topic length.

Dear Lord Riven,
My lord, can be have another tag for Swing? I think a [Swing] tag is viable as an option for labeling a thread, since it also touches upon Java cross-platform components. Some of the games also used a bit of Swing to depict their creations, if broken down into finer details.
Sincerely,
tom_mai78101

Would a dynamic image generator for the tags be too heavy on the system? Then everybody can use whatever tags they want. Just color code the known tags and let the others have a standard color. And if you are at it, create an index and a tag cloud of them
Knowing the level some members operate on, we’d be flooded by ill conceived, offensive labels.
We can add a threshold for minimum amount of medals earned in order to add labels. Like 20 medals. This may also be used to encourage more users to engage in topics and provide helpful or appreciated posts for relevant threads. Plus, it would give me an incentive to get another 10 medals.
