New feature: post quality ensurererer

Everything is OK. I’m not sure why you ask.

I think I found a bug in this system… First I was trying to add a new post to my game topic about rewriting it and then I couldn’t because I posted too much before the change, and now I tried to edit my last post and it thinks I’m adding a new post.

Still, that feature was very depressing. Not getting allowed to post is quite depressing. D:

Fixed it, thanks for reporting!

It’s quite instructive to see these experiments in shaping social interaction through technical forum rules. Quite awesome, really ;D

I can understand, but if people aren’t responding, what’s the point of continuously posting updates?

Perhaps a DevLog …

That’s a good point, if nobody seems to care about the updates to a game it makes more sense just to keep the updates quiet. There’s no reason to stop developing the game in that case; development can continue without posting updates about what you do. That’s a good view on it; I don’t really need to share what I do if people aren’t interested. If they are, they could just go to my GitHub page or the GitHub repository for the game to see all that I’ve done.

May I just add something to the mix… What if nobody replied - but people gave you appreciation medals instead - would that be a validation of the content?

I think I’ve yet to see that happen.

People constantly make ‘blog-like’ posts so their game can be pushed up in the WIPs. Perhaps in the first post of their thread they can have some sort of ‘dev-blog’ and they can post their updates there. And once they post that update, their game is at the top of the WIP section again. That way it will work just like it does now, except there will be less ‘blog-like’ posts and everyones games are still being pushed. Then for really important updates that do need attention you can simply make another post for those.

This probably isn’t the best idea in the world, but I would like to see it in action.

There are several blog websites out there, just post a link to your blog. The current system works fine.

Fixed it, again, as editing the last post in some cases still was impossible.

I see the reasoning behind the minimum number of replies but I still don’t like it. :clue: I can’t give a reason really. I guess what you are saying is move dev logs to edits and dev blogs to…well…blogs. Cool.
