New feature: highlighting posts of specific members

Now it does. It hides topics if topic starter is specific member. Obviously this only works on the message-index of each board. Please keep in mind I’m not modifying any queries in SMF. I’m just adding css class-attributes to certain elements and adding a stylesheet that overrides some styles, using those css classes. With this approach, my options are limited, but I really don’t want to mess with SMF’s internals to get a complete solution.

Awesomeness is determined by appreciation/medals (not purely the amount, obviously) and some other factors.

Interesting members are simply ordered by the amount of people that highlighted them.

The actual scores mean very little and are subject to change.

It doesn’t have to be a perfect solution to be useful. Back in the day some of us used Greasemonkey to do something similar on the JDCF. If the server will do the hard work for us, so much the better.

I’m still confused as to why ā€œliteracyā€ is used in the interestingness ranking, but never mind. Unless you’re going to change it to something like ā€œin order of number of potential minionsā€ I suppose it doesn’t really matter what it’s called.

Given my apprecitation level it would make total sense to auto-highlight my posts for everyone.

Threshold is at 4000.

God knows how you got 3000+ appreciation points but well deserved, have to say… Recently started using libgdx and its’ the dogs boll*cks. +1 from me… A drop in the ocean.

Finally, If I highlight everybody I can turn the theme color of forum to redish~

Wait, I do it wrong.

Does your browser not support user stylesheets?

I’m sure firefox does :stuck_out_tongue:

May be just me, but I’m finding the green highlights a bit icky.
Yellow/gold highlights on a blue background might be a more attractive colour scheme.
(But then I also consider this to be an attractive colour scheme, so feel free to ignore me. :stuck_out_tongue: )

Can you bring your server back up?

I made the headers of the hidden posts visible again, as it was getting rather confusing at times.

The link’s not working? Hmm, seems okay for me now. (You can ignore it anyway. I was just emphasising my lack of credentials as an art critic.)

TCP timeout for me.

Proof that the Internet hates me. :emo:
Thanks for the error report.

I changed the highlight feature to automatically highlight a member if you awarded at least 3 medals to a that member.

You’re always free to adjust this. Once you explicitly set visibility, that choice is respected, regardless of any future awarded medals.

Who highlights who is private. When you highlight somebody (or hide their posts) they can’t trace it down to you. You only see how many people highlighted you.

I wonder how many highlights you have now, Riven…

Why I have to HL ra4king?! it’s madness! changes

Hmmm 3 medals, someone with over 100 medals should get mostly forum highlight.

Hmmm… The problem is, I do like the Idea of highlights, but I treat them differently from Medals.

And why can’t I turn off highlighting you, Riven? Not that I wanted to :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Somehow it doesn’t work

It does work now... strange. Seems like I accidently went to the last page, and that disabled the effect ...

It’s just a nudge to show people the functionality actually exists.

Barely anybody was using it, so instead of admitting failure, I force it upon you.

That’s what I thought in the beginning

I think saying ā€œHey guys, highlighting is actually a cool feature, do it! :)ā€

Now I’m off highlighting theagentd and davedes, if I didn’t already
