LOL! Yeah, come and post it on puppygames.net  I’m a bit faster to respond to forum adjustment requests!

Cas

Just to return to the original focus of the request, what I was asking for was a showcase on the javagaming front page where people can post screen shots so people who are dropping by and who AREN’T going to read the forums can see some of the cool things that people are doing. I’m not suggesting an image forum of anything along those lines.

All I’m saying is that for such a visual art - there is a complete absence of anything visual anywhere on the site.

[quote] OK…now back to the real topic

Should we create a new site - javagaming for gamers?
Do we need that? Who should maintain that?

First off…silly, just silly. There are plenty of Java game sites already out there.

I think this is a great idea and I will work on getting this up ASAP. Anyone that has a picture that would like a showcase on the front page, please send your images, link, and description to:

hm…don’t know any good one for gamers, only this one for coders. Please post some links or mail them to me. i want to put them into the wiki.

http://www.java-gaming.com
http://www.pogo.com

to name a few.

@chrism
don’t know if you really understand what i wanted to have: a site where we can promote our stuff to gamers, no tech talk, only games.

the links you gave above are quite a different thing. java-gaming looks right ( a little bit ugly…) but i found only flash games (right click on the games  ).

the other two are comercial ones

Java.Com is a place to promote your games to gamers.

-ChrisM

thanks

Ok guys,

I set up an e-mail for your submissions and so far I have received 1 submission. This will post by tomorrow. SEN ME YOUR IMAGES AND PROJECTS TO POST!

@ChrisM

Have you forgotten something… like the email address or so? :stuck_out_tongue:

You probably need to make a bigger annoucement, only so many folks are going to see this particular post down in this forum.

Try posting this on the gaming section front or in Your Games, and the API forums. I’m sure most people don’t even read the Suggestions forum. I only came here because I had a suggestion

Of course…brain fart

-ChrisM

Boink!

So what happened to this idea then? Are we going to have screenshots on the front page? Surely there must be some projects to get excited about

Kev

I posted messages all over the place asking for submissions and got 3 responses. These all were forwarded to the Java.Com people and those games will get exposure. If anyone wants to send me their game information, I will galdly forward it on.

As for the Java.Net page, we are trying to redesign it so we can give more local attention to our industry segment

-Chris

Cool on the redesign, shame on the ā€œonly 3 responsesā€. Its actually quite surprising, maybe people just arn’t far enough along on their projects… I’m know I’m not.

Cheers for the quick response,

Kev

Hi
Same here, no where near ready for any screenies and the likes, maybe in a couple of months

Endolf

Ah, just had a thought on this. It hurt.

Wasn’t there an idea a ways up about having a screenshot/project of the day/week/month at the top of the forum, i.e. on this site. Kinda like an extension of Your Games Here. You might get more response on this as people could show games in early development then.

Surely there’s at least a couple of new topics each week in Your Games Here?
