HL2 source code leaked.

From what I understand, and for those that have seen the demos from E3, the physics and muscle/skeletal systems are the real innovations in the engine. To date, no other engine has had the spohistication that the HL2 engine possesses in combining these aspects in the gameplay. I would almost guarantee that anyone possessing the source would find the time to understand how Valve did this if they really wanted to copy their techniques. While I don’t agree that technology is a real differentiator for gameplay today, their stuff looks DAMN cool.

If you want to see physics in action play Max Payne 2, which is really good fun. And totally excessively violent :stuck_out_tongue:

[quote]We can assume, based on the fact they are developing for windows, were started by two ex-ms employees and use DirectX very heavily they are probably developing on Windows.

Well the entry point was a vuln of Outlook… so… go figure.

Needless to say that that vuln was damn old and known for more than a year… it’s so old that MS actually patched it in the meantime ;D

I can say it 1000 times a day… don’t use IE and don’t use OE. It’s really that simple
