ChangeLog:

[] Foreground/Background bugfix (unable to remove from scene)
[
] Empty methods and unused fields removed from com.xith3d.scenegraph

You are strongly advised to update to this version of Xith3D as there have been many empty methods removed from the scenegraph. If you were using one of these methods the chances are your code did nothing! If you think a non-empty method was removed in error, it is important to raise this ASAP so it can be put back in.

Any news about Xith3D? No new build since September 2004.

new build: http://xith.org/download/builds/2005-02-08_cvs/Xith3D_2005-02-08_cvs.tar.gz

Sorry for the delay, I have been extreemly busy.

New in this build:

  • LWJGL support, with updated LWJGL libs (latest stable release)
  • Inclusion of the Xith3D toolkit including some excellent geometry classes.

Javadocs here (now includes fully documented geometry package): http://xith.org/javadoc/

great news!

Using the new version I am unable to run any of the examples. Getting the following error:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no JavaAccessBridge in java.library.path

Why would I need the Bridge installed?

EDIT: Found the bride dll in system32 added it to the library path in the runtest.bat file. Now I get the following error

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/xith3d/test/Xith3DAmbientLightingTest$1$KeyboardEventListener

the problem here seems to be that the inner classes in the xith3d.jar don’t have both $ characters for instance

com/xith3d/test/Xith3DAmbientLightingTest$1$KeyboardEventListener

is

com/xith3d/test/Xith3DAmbientLightingTest$1KeyboardEventListener

in the jar

Bump

any clue what’s wrong with the latest build, see previous message.

loader3ds added to org.xith3d package in the xith-tk. For the time being, I’m going to take a break from working on it (long break probably), so if anyone wants to pick it up and fix the animation code, I’d be grateful.

lol , guyz … sorry. from 14 february to now just nothing?
I think you find solution as i did it today , but it is not good.
ok , i post solution - need ant build of xith3d.jar on local machine. Something wrong with inner classes in xith3d.jar provided in last build. I cant say what exactly wrong … not $ for sure , second $ just a presentation , it havnt be in real file name.
Maybe its help to some1 who need to use Xith 1 time in year.

I have my own question. I have serious loose in performance compearing to 1 year before version of xith (or version of drivers) .
this mean latest build , and pre latest runs (demos) very slow on my machine. It was really ok 1 or 1.5 year before. I have 100% cpu picks very offen. also Martian Maddness of Kev run not so fast as i remember it runs.
A differences in my configuration are simple - i have mobility radeon 7500 so i use omega drivers right now.
them gives me 25-30 fps in martian madness. latest hp drivers give 1-2 fps. its really sad. maybe some1 knows what is a problem?

It looks like there are some problems with the latest build. I will try to fix them and re-release. For now, just use the second latest build which I believe doesn’t have these problems.

Sorry I missed these posts - I don’t read this sticky topic often. It’s best to create a new topic (“problem with latest build”).
